The Workplace Safety Centre The Workplace Safety Centre provides a range of training programs to suit Employers, Self Employed persons, and Employees to assist in their understanding of the compliances required under the NSW Safety OHS Act and the NSW Safety OHS Regulation. These training programs have been developed to help management & workers understand their obligations under these laws. Examples are: For Business owners, supervisors, managers, leading hands and foreman the most appropriate course is OHS Risk Management. This course is run in both 1 day and 2 day formats. For Safety Committee members (may be required in companies with more than 20 staff), Safety Representatives or staff involved in other agreed arrangements for safety consultation in the workplace, there is the 4 day OHS Consultation course. For Employees there is the General OHS Induction course which covers legislation, hazard awareness and duty of responsibilities. For Workers involved in the trade industries, building, construction, landscaping, maintenance or roadwork, there is the OHS General Induction Course sometimes called the “green card”. (The card is actually White in color and is issued by WorkCover NSW.) For Employees there are a number of work specific OHS courses such as Traffic Control (Stop / Slow Bat), Manual Handling, Electrical Inspection & Testing and Confined Spaces.
