2007 PARRAMATTA BUSINESS SHOWCASE WEDNESDAY 26 SEPTEMBER 2007 CROWNE PLAZA PARRAMATTA - 12 TO 7pm Expo Edge, in conjunction with Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, were pleased to present the Seventh Parramatta Business Showcase at the Crowne Plaza Parramatta. This was the first time it has been held at this prestigious Parramatta CBD location and was a fantastic success for both exhibitors and visitors.  On the day 43 exhibitors were able to showcase their goods and services to 368 visitors from the local business community who wanted to find out what was available to them on their own doorstep.  Adding an estimated 120 exhibitor staff that were involved on the day gave a total attendance of 488 people. Around 100 exhibitors and visitors stayed on for the After-5 cocktail party after the Showcase to partake in some fine canapes and drinks courtesy of the major sponsors of the event.
In this regard we would like to thank our major sponsors, Parramatta City Council and Crowne Plaza Parramatta for their support to make the event, and the After-5 cocktail party and networking function, free for Visitors to attend.  We are also extremely grateful to our many Support Partners - Awards & More, The Parramatta Advertiser, Snap Printing, GWP Magazine, Kreative Business Builders and X Designs - for their support to make this event a truly local expo showcasing everything that is great about the Parramatta Business Community. Stephanie Dale, the Immediate Past President of the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce, opened the cocktail party and commented how successful the change of venue had been with double the number of exhibitors and a 50% increase in visitors over last year.  Councillor Paul Barber, the Lord Mayor of Parramatta, then welcomed guests and gave us a brief update on the upcoming changes to Parramatta and the council's ongoing support to local business.  The General Manager of Crowne Plaza Parramatta, Sam Davies, commented how pleased the hotel has been to support the local business community to host the event and then announced the first passport promotion prize winner who can now enjoy a great weekend at the Crowne Plaza Terrigal with the loan of a Ford Territory for the weekend courtesy of Thompson Ford.  Finally, Roman Dechnicz who is the current President of the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce thanked everyone for supporting the Showcase and picked the remainder of the prize winners for the passport promotion.
